SENTENCE COMBINATION, July 27th, 2009

Learning to combine ideas into more complex sentences is an important skill in writing. There are many ways to do this--many possible bonus points! Try to combine the following three sentences.

Sentence 1: In Edmonton, the long weekend in August is called “Heritage Days”.
Sentence 2: It is supposedly the largest multi-cultural festival in the world; Last year, there were over sixty cultures represented
Sentence 3: There is always music, dancing, arts, and crafts, but the food is often the best experience.

Sariyat: Good, but note that you shouldn't use capital letters after a semicolon or comma (unless the word is a proper noun), and that you do need a period at the end of the sentence;-)
Daniela:Nicely done!
