Sara: An exclamation doesn't make a good phrase. #2 is an independent clause; #3 is good.
Nadia: Good, but you have changed the independent clause into a dependent clause in #3. Keep that independent clause intact.

Correcting #1 & #2 of my previous post.
1. As the calender stated, November 11th was Remembrance Day.
2. November 11th was Remembrance Day and many families thought about the soldiers.

PHRASE

DEPENDENT CLAUSE
I reminded the staff that November 11th was Remembrance Day.

INDEPENDENT CLAUSE
November 11th was Remembrance Day, but not everyone got the day off work.

Shahinaz: #1--yes, but remember to start the sentence with a capital letter; #2--yes, but some word confusion; I think you mean sacrifice; #3--the right idea, but you have a problem with the verb tense.
