SENTENCE COMBINATION, Feb. 12th 2010

Learning to combine ideas into more complex sentences is an important skill in writing. There are many ways to do this--many possible bonus points! Try to combine the following three sentences.
 
Sentence 1: Most people get excited by Valentine's Day and celebrate it enthusiastically.
Sentence 2: People often spend a lot of money on candy, chocolates, flowers, and other gifts.
Sentence 3: I think it is just an example of commercial over-exploitation.
